Voters in Colorado and Washington voted to legalize marijuana on Tuesday, while voters in Oregon voted against a similar initiative.

It's not about smoking or growing pot.  It's about the citizens of a state telling the federal government to take a flying leap.   This is how the usurpation of state rights by the federal government is challenged.   It was legal here in the 70's and no it does not make the state a magnet for dealers.  It effectively removes their customer base and makes them bring down their prices to compete when everyone can grow it for free in their garage.   It is also brings in revenue to the state through licensing and paraphanalia sales, saves law enforcement, legal, court and jail funding for real criminals.
